With approx. 700 ft. on the east side of the Dark
Island canal, there is potential for a commercial venture that could
generate rental income.from renting docking spaces. Or, one could build
the docks and sell them as "dock-o-miniums." With public access
to the Gulf at a premium these days, these docks would provide a place
for people to park their boats without having to wait in the long lines
at the Keaton Beach boat ramp. The Dark Island public boat ramp adjoins
the property to the south, so people would have the convenience of putting
their boats in the water right on site. The property also includes enough
space for a small house or for parking an RV, with great views of the
Gulf and gorgeous sunsets. Included also is approximately 28 acres of
marsh that could be used for mitigation, a tax-exempt donation to the
Audubon Society, or a creative enterprise such as a scallop nursery.
With some creativity, the sky is the limit!
